What Causes Spotting On The Day Of Menstruation?

Hi, I was due my period on Monday and would normally be precise on a 30 day cycle. Last night I had a very slight bleed, more like spotting and wondering what could cause this, apart from pregnancy? We ve been trying to conceive but I dont want to get my hopes up too soon. Thanks

Hi,
I understand your concern.
The spotting before date of period in case of regular menstrual cycle can be due to-
- Implantation bleeding in case of conception- here bleeding stops in couple of days & periods do not follow.
- Stress due to excessive physical/psychological cause, sexual stress, cervical erosion/vaginal infection
