Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a painless spasming (not constant, but maybe 1/3 of the past 24 hours) of what I m pretty sure is my lower esophageal sphincter--it can be felt easily by placing hand/finger just under my ribcage. Is this any cause for concern? My inclination is to ignore it until I see my GP in about a week.

What Causes Spasms Under The Rib Cage?
Hello, Your symptoms seem to be related to gastroesophageal reflux disease. I suggest using a spasmolytic such as Buscopan. I also suggest using Maalox to lower the acidity in the stomach. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
