What Causes Spasms On The Right Side Of The Waist?

What are possible causes of spasms on the (my) right side around the waist area? I can point to the exact area the spasms are. I have had the spasms for five days. Pain meds like Ibuprofen lessen them too. The spasms come and go. Could it be stress or something more serious?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic!
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
It could be due muscle pull.
Take adequate bed rest for few days.
You can take simple analgesics like diclofenac and ibuprofen. You may also require antispasmodics like baclofen.
If symptoms persist despite all these, consult an orthopedic and get an MRI scan to rule out sprain.
Wishing you good Health,
regards.
