What Causes Spasms In Fingers And Hands Post Surgery To Repair Tendon?
I have just had surgery a day and a half ago to repair my EPL that was severed. My hand is in a splint/cast, my fingers are free to move but the thumb is held firmly. Today the muscles in my fingers and hand are spasming. This is unpleasant and the incision area feels a bit hot and hurts now for the first time. I took some of the hydro-acetomenophen for the first evening and night but only have taken ibuprofen today. There was no pain until this afternoon and evening when the spasms started. This may not be enough info but i am wondering if this sounds concerning on it s face. It s Saturday night and I wont be able to chat with anyone familiar with my case until at least Monday. Thanks
Hi, Usually this type of pain and spam of muscles are common for some time due to procedure and splint. But as you got hot and burning sensation over the part, chance of having any infection is to be ruled out. Consult your treating doctor and get examined. Take Ibuprofen or Tramadol for pain or spasm. Ok and take care.
