What Causes Soreness On The Hip Bone?

HI there, I had some soreness on the outside of my left leg near my hip bone. I thought I strained a muscle. Last night I was pulling on something and flew back and landed on this hip area. I iced it and this morning it was bothering me but not super bad. I walked in the am slowing and careful not to put too much pressure on my left foot. During the day it started to bother me more and more. I took a warm bath and iced again. It is very difficult for me to put pressure on the foot and especially notice it after I have driven and need to get out of the car. It is a painful piercing pain.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
soreness of hip bone after an injury is normal. It is a normal tissue reponse to injury. It could just be a strain or a fracture in extreme cases.I will suggest you try the following:
-Rest well
-Continu icing if pain intense
-You may take a pain drug like ibuprofen
If pain persist, you see the Doctor for examination and a hip x ray.
Hope this will help
Best regards
