I was put on cephalexin 500 mg for an infection on my foot. A week into taking the medication my face started to feel sore. The next day I called my doctor, he told me to stop taking it. My face was not sore two days after stopping it, but today my face is back to feeling like I have a sunburn. My inside of my nose is extremely dry as well. I am afraid of what may be next. Should I be concerned about blistering skin or even worse, a bad allergic reaction? I just find it strange that the symptoms are not improving the longer I am off the medication, please give me some advice
Hi. It could be due to phototoxic reaction due to cephalexin. Apply a good moisturizer 4-5 times a day. Avoid face wash and frequent washing of face. Avoid direct sun. Hope it helps
