What Causes Soreness In The Left Upper Abdomen An Inch Below The Rib?

For some time I have had a vague sore feeling in the upper abdomen area more towards the left about an inch below my rib spreading to the middle of my upper abdomen, I feel bloated (although when I wake in the morning the bloating sensation has subsided), I clear my bowels every morning though sometimes I also need to clear them late afternoon or evening. When I drink fluids I have to be sitting up - If I m lying down, I feel the fluid is coming up to my throat. I have been on nexium for about 6 months now.

Hello,

It could be due to conditions like costochondritis.

As of now, you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
