What Causes Soreness In The Breasts Before Periods?

My period is due in about a week. I have had sore breasts and nipples with increased size for at least a week now, with barely there light pink spotting when today when I wiped, and other possible pregnancy symptoms. I have gotten spotting before right before my period, but that usually happens and I immediately begin heavily bleeding. I am not bleeding, only spotting. Could I be pregnant? Note: I have sex regularly with my husband using the pull out method only.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is quite common and is due to cyclical hormonal changes. Nothing much to worry and it will settle by itself.

As first-line management, you can take drugs like mefenamic acid for pain relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
