Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a sore big toe for a week. Took off my nailpolish and the nailbed is dark like I smashed it. I now notice a clear to light pink liquid coming out from under the toenail and the toe nail can be lifted partially on one side. What could cause this. The discharge does not smell at all. What can this be? This is the same toenail I had an ingrown nail removed from 30 years ago
I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your toe nail. As you said there is a pinkish discharge, it may be the pus. It seems to me that you have a bacterial infection.
Make sure that the site remains clean, you may need to cover it. Wash it at least twice day with sterilized water. You can also take antibiotics like ofloxicin 200 mg daily in consultation with your doctor.
Hope the answer to your question. Write to Healthcaremagic in case of any further assistance is needed.
Regards Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
