What Causes Soreness In Clitoris Post Non Penetrative Sex?

So I have a girlfriend and she is a virgin, after being with her awhile we have become comfortable enough to have oral sex. I know for a fact she has a small clitoris and it is likely it is partially or completely hooded. I have been active with a partner who has had the same thing, but with this girl after the first time she apparently experienced some soreness, being nervous and dismissing it as coming from a new experience she never told me, but after the second time she let me know. I was not rough with her, but would like to know if there is a corilaltion between the fact that she is hooded and the soreness
