What Causes Soreness In Chest After A Cardiac Arrest?

I had a cardiac arrest 2 weeks ago, and survived well, I now have a ICD implant. I have been discharged from hospital 3 days ago, but my chest is still very sore, maybe getting more sore than it was. I did have about half an hour CPR performed on me. I am just not sure if the sore chest is still recovering from the CPR or maybe I have picked up an infection 0 I had been treated for pneumonia whilst in hospital.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

According to my surgical experience, soreness over the surface of the chest must be secondary to CPR procedures related.

If the soreness is inside the chest, one has to consider any lung or heart-related cause for sure.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
