What Causes Soreness And Discoloration On The Ankles?
My daughter had three surgeries in the past year for a broken ankle and leg. She has a metal plate and 11 screws. She began complaining of soreness and then the next day it was green and bruised above the length of the plate. She has been taking a lifting class in PE but it s nothing new. What could be causing extreme soreness and bruising after a year? She hasn t bumped it against a thing either.

It may be infection or dislocation of plate or phlebitis over plate etc..
Please consult your Orthopedician check it out once again for is it on the place or it is infected or dislocated etc.
Use cold and warm compression, use painkiller medication.
