General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Since fracture has been eliminated by the x ray results, other possible causes of pain post knee injury may include: muscle/ligament tear/injury.These lesion may not be visible on an X Ray but a MRI test may reveal it.I will suggest you tr the following:
-Rest well
-Continue with ice pack placement occasionally
-Take a pain/antiinflammatory drug like ibuprofen
-Apply a local pain gel like voltarene gel
-Use a bandage to hold the joint lightly.
If pain persist, you see the Orthopedist for evaluation and if possible a MRI test.
Hope this will help
Wish you a speedy recovery
