What Causes Sore Tongue On Top Right Side At The Back?

What causes sore tongue on top right side at the back. Soreness comes and goes, but is most evident when swallowing. Have significant post nasal drainage on same side. Also have ear discomfort which I think is just my TMJ. No visible sores or lumps except taste buds. I am 41, male, 230 lbs.

Hello
Welcome to HCM
I read your query since you have nasal problem and you cant see any lump or patch but just pain on right back side of tongue which could be inflammed papillae ie taste buds which due to infection or inflammation gt enlarge. Start with anti inflammatory drug which will subside your symptom. For ear infection if it is TMJ disorder then take care while opening wide mouth, if you find any clicking sound or pain then start with muscle relaxant.
Thank you
