What Causes Sore Throat And Jaw Pain After Suffering From Fever?

My wife had a low grade fever for about two weeks which is now gone. Body aches which have now subsided. But she still has a mild sore throat and today has started to have some pain in th e jaw. She is extremely fatigued. She has been to our family doctor who did a full blood workup and urinalisis and other checks. All tests came back normal. She has been feeling ill for more than three weeks, but the doctor can find no aparent reason. He has put her on antibiotics just in case she does have some type of bacterial rather than viral infection, but other than giving her diarreah, the antibiotics have had no effect. We also checked her for a tick bite for the posdibility of lyme disease, but found nothing. Any guesses what this could be?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain lingering sore throat and pain under the jaw can be due to infection in the throat and jaw pain can be due to swollen lymph nodes under the jaw..
It can also be due to any deeply decayed tooth or jaw joint related problem..

Consult an Oral and ENT Physician and get evaluated and get an x ray of the jaw done to rule out the cause..
n appropriate treatment can be advised once the cause is confirmed..

As of now she can take painkillers like Ibuprofen or Diclofenac to relieve pain..
Do alternate warm and cool compresses over the jaw..
Take appropriate rest..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
