General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The symptoms of hiatus hernia can be due to painkillers. Some amount of pain and swelling at the surgery site is common. Hope the sutured area is not red and bulging. If this is present, it could be due to infection. Nothing to worry. Please discuss with your surgeon if you have any doubts.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hari Charan Perigela, General Surgeon
