Yes, I have a daughter who has not been officially diagnosed with Paranoid schizophrenia, however as a parent I know she fits the criteria. she was on Seraquil and functioned wonderfully, except it elevated her blood sugar. She is now on saphris, we have done lutuda, and an number of other meds and have not yet gotten to a Seraquil baseline. My concern is:
1. As the years pass, does patients with Paranoid Schizophernia show decreased cognitive functions or is it possible the meds are causing more detachment and social withdrawl. I want desperately to make her better, though I know that I can't?
2. My daughter was a severe premie. she was born at 25 weeks gestation 30 years ago. what is the connection between prematurity and mental illness?
