What Causes Slight Cramps And Bloating After Taking Plan-B Twice?

Hi, I ve had my period 4 times in the past 2 months. I m 18 years old. I have took some oral contraceptives so im not sure if its caused by it. It started around June 9, days after i took plan b. Then I had it again June 26-30. I went to try some birth control pills to see if it would help and i started taking them and I stopped because I thought i was having an allergic reaction to it. I got my period again July 9th. I started to think I was pregnant so i took some pregnancy test and it came out negative. I also did hiv and ghonorrea/chlamydia test and they came out negative. (The test was back around June 12 i think?) And then i took another plan b pill July 17th, and got my period today. I have been tired lately, and a slight cramp bloating. What could be the problem? Should i start taking birth control again to see if it helps?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
After reading the description you have posted, it appears that you have been overdosed with Plan B. Plan B needs to be taken as an emergency contraceptive pill within 48 hours of unprotected intercourse. You need to wait till you get your periods, which would happen within 3 weeks from the day you have taken the pill.
Due to repeated intake of Plan B, it has shown some adverse effects in the form of abdominal cramps and bloating.
Nothing to be worried much. Take symptomatic treatment in the form of Tablet. Mefenamic acid along with dicyclomine hydrochloride as an analgesic and antispasmodic twice a day after food for 3 days. Your symptoms should subside gradually. Along with it, drink plenty of water and heep yourself well hydrated.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
