What Causes Sleeplessness And Plantar Fasciitis While On Ciproflaxin For UTI?

I am now in the 3rd month taking Ciproflaxin for urinary tract/prostate infections. I don t sleep well and I have what I believed to be plantar fasitis (sp). Am I endangering my long term health by accepting these effects as a necessity if I am to get well?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You would need to balance the pros and the cons.

It is possible that the plantar fasitis is not related to the medication, there are some persons with this problem who are not on this family of medications.
This family of medication can cause tendon injury but may or may not be the causal factor for you.
You would also need to look at the issues related to persisting urinary tract infections.

If the benefits of the medication outweigh the risks then you should continue.

I hope this helps
