What Causes Skipping Heart Beat While Sleeping?

I have an appointment with my GP tomorrow. What's been happening lately is right about when I fall asleep, I get this feeling that my heart stops for a moment and then continues beating. It also feels like I am being "zapped" awake. I am not getting any sleep, and this has been ongoing for about two weeks. I am a 36 year old female. I have severe acid reflux disease and have been under a lot of stress and having many anxiety issues lately, which I have in the past but have never experienced anything like this.
