What Causes Skipped Heart Beat?

I am 71 years old and in very good condition. I had a nuclear treadmill about 11 months ago and everything was good. I am not overweight and exercise routinely. I take a mild blood pressure med and
it is in check. I have noticed that sometimes when checking my pulse my heart appears to skip a beat. Is
this anything that should be checked.

Thanks for posting on HealthCareMagic. Let me assure you that it is absolutely normal to miss a beat occasionally and nothing needs to be done about it. But please note that if you feel that this is occurring in a certain periodicity, i.e. if a beat is being missed after a definite number of beats, there is reason to be concerned. In that case, I would insist you to get an ECG done and to visit a cardiologist with the report.
