What Causes Shortness Of Breath With A History Of Left Bundle Branch Block?
my doctor just examined me and told me that the left side of my heart is working too hard. and is sending me to a cardiologist. I was diagnosed with a left bundle branch two years ago. and very recently was hospitalized for pneumonia, which they say they cleared up. I am very short of breath, inspite of being an athlete, and always trained hard, (even now at age 59). two tears ago I ran a half marathon. now I get winded walking up a flighgt of steps. any guesses or advice as to what my symptons indicate. or what my next move should be.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thanks for asking HCM I have gone through your query. The underlying cause of LBB should be treated. Mainly it can be Diabeteshypertension or CAD. Dyspnoea ( shortness of breath) is a sign of decreasing efficiency of heart. It is better for you to have a cardiovascular evaluation. A echocardiography will be needed. With proper therapy and follow up by cardiologist you will be fine. Let me know if you have any further query. Have a nice day.
