What Causes Shortness Of Breath While Suffering From Respiratory Tract Infection?

I've recently had an upper respiratory infection and seasonal allergies. Over the past few days, I've had several instances of having a sudden, involuntary intake of breath. Do you think it's related to the URI/allergies, and is it something I should be concerned about. I am breathing normally otherwise.

hi
thanks for choosing hcm
i understand your concern
in my opinion your symptoms are not something to worry as this is due to brochospasm as a result of allergy and hence when your bronchi are in spam less oxygen enters your system and less carbondioxide comes out so as a result you have an episode of involuntary deep breath so that your system get rid of extra carbondioxide.
you need not worry as this is the normal mechanism.
I hope your querry is answered, if you find this information helpful dont forget to give five star feedback. get well soon :)
