Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Shortness Of Breath Upon Climbing Stairs?
I had a Pacemaker put in on 7/26 and an ablation on 10/9 for bad Afib. Since then I have been on Tikosyn, Eliquis, and some other stuff for Colesterol etc. I have shortness of breath going up stairs and some mild fatigue. My doctor wants to change my Eliquis to Coumadin. I not to thrilled about that. Do you have any other thoughts. I walk 2-3 miles a day on the treadmill.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I suggest you to take an ECG and Chest X-ray and consult a physician as shortness of breathing may be due to any other heart issues. Yes, changing Eliquis to coumadin is also a good choice.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
