What Causes Shortness Of Breath, Fluctuating Heart Rate And Swollen Feet?
I am having shortness of breath, swelling in my feet, a fluxuating heart rate and trouble breathing. Are these signs of heart or lung trouble or both? I do not smoke and am somewhat overweight at age 72. I am currently on medication for high blood pressure and acid reflux.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic. I have read & understood your concern. High blood pressure, over weight, swelling on feet, fluctuating heart beat& dry cough go in favor heart trouble. But if the cough is with excessive/ yellow sputum it can be lung infection with accompanying heart problem. The acid re-flux you have can instigate cough * You should consult a physician for primary differentiation & then referred to specific specialty for investigations & specific advise.
Thanks
