What Causes Shortness Of Breath, Dizziness, Cough And Nausea?
I have a female friend, 36 years old, non-smoker. Her symptoms since March are coughing, shortness of breath, she wakes up dizzy and nauseated all the time. She has been on antibiotics, steroids, allergy meds, antacids, and currently being treated for mold toxicity. She has had x-rays and chest scans. She has been to the doctor at least a dozen times and nothing has helped. Any ideas what to be looking for?

Her symptoms could be caused by medical conditions like allergy or respiratory infections or other lung pathologies like mass, obstructive bronchopneupathy, asthma...I will suggest she sees a Pneumologist for an extensive evaluation.She will need to take a respiratory function teste and if need be, a sputum exam.The results of her x ray and chest scan would have been very helpful.Let her see a lung expert for evaluation.In the meantime, she may try the following:
-Avoid environmental irritants like cold, dust and smoke
-Take a mucolytic like carbosysteine 5 %
-Take a broncho-dilatator like salbutus syrup
-Nasal steroids spray since systemic steroids may have any side effects.
The Pneumologist will help her with an etiologic management after investigations.
