What Causes Shortness Of Breath And Weakness After Taking Prednisone?

I am taking prednisone for an allergic reaction to clindamycin. I am also taking Levaquin for possible sinus infection after completing a root canal, which is why I was taking clindamycin. I am very weak and sometimes short of breath and feel shaky. Is this a side affect of prednisone?

I have gone through your question and understand your concern. It’s not uncommon to have symptom of shortness of breath when taking prednisone. It can be caused due to weakness of muscles involved in respiration, inform the treating doctor about the symptom at the earliest.
Do not attempt to stop medication without consulting your doctor, as drug like prednisone need to be gradually tapered down to lower dose. Weakness and shortness of breath will subside once the medication is stopped.
