What Causes Shortness Of Breath And Elevated Pulse Post Intake Of Propranolol Tablet?

I have been on propranolol 10mg twice a day at first it was great lowered my heart rate I felt awesome. Now about three months later I have shortness of breath and wheezing and my heart rate seems to have gone back up to where it was in the 90 s to 100 s and I take it faithfully twice daily.

Propranolol is a non selective beta blocker drug used to treat high bit rate of the heart and hypertension as in your case.
This drug is able to lower bit rate but sometimes when the bit rate is very low a paradoxically situation may happen where the bit rate goes very high as a reaction of the body against the very low rate.

Other side effects of propranolol are, low bit rate and fainting, AV Blocks, Worsening of asthma and difficulty in breathing since it constricts air ways.

In these situations I would recommend you to consult the doctor who prescribed you the medication to adjust the dose or to change the therapy.
