What Causes Shorter And Lighter Menstrual Bleeding?

Hi I m 33 years old & for the last few months I have had earlier periods, lighter & shorter. I usually have them for 5-7days & very regular & on time. Last period started 2 days earlier & lasted 3 days, light flow, no clots at all. This period (current), started 4 days early & light flow, no clots & it seems to be stopping today already! My breasts have been quite sore & slight period pain. Last month I had the works, of so many pregnancy symptoms, I think it was all in my head....Could there be another issue as to why all of a sudden my periods are early, lighter & shorter in duration??

Hi,

You should first get a home pregnancy test done to confirm/exclude pregnancy.

In case it's -ve such a problem would be due to low ovarian activity. Usgpelvis & hormone assessment would confirm .please consult a gynaecologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
