What Causes Sharp, Squeezing Pain In Chest Post Alcohol Intake?

whenever I drink alcohol I get these sharp chest pains, as if someone is sitting on or squeezing my chest and it s hard for me to breathe. It normally goes away after 30 min. or so. I never drink hard liquor it s always the girly, fruity drinks so I don t drink often. Is this normal and why does this happen when I drink alcohol?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
It is quite possible that alcohol is causing acute gastritis. Kindly try avoiding alcohol as far as possible. Even if you take alcohol , kindly take peanuts or fatty foods along with it. Donot drink neat drinks. Always take diluted drinks.
Avoid sour cocktails as it increases acidity.
.
A morning dose of Pantoprazole 40mg half an hour before breakfast helps reduce acidity.

Dr.Riyanka
