Hi,

I expect the doctors at the ER examined you and could not not find any cause to worry and so, they discharged you. In that case, the most likely cause for your problem is muscle soreness, which is common in meth users. The muscles in the rib cage, which contract and relax during breathing are causing the pain. You will find that local application of analgesic ointments helps. Warm compress may also help.

Best wishes.
