What Causes Sharp Pain In The Pubic Bone?

I ve been having sharp pain on my pubic bone area on my right side. I m not pregnant, having trouble urinating, nor does my urine look out of the ordinary. I haven t been sexually active recently either. This has been going on only for a day but it has made me worry because I haven t had pain in that area. It started hurting in the morning when I did not urinate the night before as I usually do and had to go directly to the bathroom first thing when I woke up and the pains started. I hadn t felt it throughout the afternoon but now that it is getting dark, I m starting to feel it again. Is this something I should make an appointment for immediately or should I wait and see if it goes away within the next couple of days? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a urinary tract infection.

I suggest using an anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen.

I also suggest using a cycle of antibiotics which are a prescription medication.

I recommend drinking liquids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
