What Causes Sharp Pain In Pelvic Region On Standing Up?

After sitting for short or extended lengths of time, when I try to stand I have a sharp pain in my left side where my leg meets my torso. As I begin to walk there is profound weakness in the muscle that tries to lift the leg causing me to almost fall. The muscle on the front of that leg rarely relaxes. It stays in an almost cramp all of the time. Could this all be from a bad knee?

hi
There is a need for x ray of the hip-some inflammatory process is going on which is causing muscle spasm.Another reason could be some compression of nerve either sciatic or femoral.Get yourself checked by an orthopedic surgeon.Take ibuprofen and chloraxazone tab if your doctor agrees. Do hot fomentation also and apply muscle relaxant cream/gel locally
Best wishes,
