What Causes Sharp Pain In Belly Button Post Appendix Removal?

Hello, I had my appendix removed last Sunday. I had extreme pain, and my surgeon said it was not normal. He sent me for a ct scan and it showed normal. My pain has eased as far as the incisions, But above my belly button over to my left side I get sharp pains, that even have a burning pain along with the sharpness. When I stand, I feel like this area sticks out a lot, and I look so bloated. Is this normal, I see my Surgeon again on Wednesday, But if it could be serious I don t want to wait that long. Any advice would be appreciated!!

Hi,

Yes, you need iv pain medication, only treating doctor can prescribe. You need to do all routine tests, if pain persist longer, abdomen USG and CT scan are advisable.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
