What Causes Sharp Pain Below The Ribcage?

Yesterday I bend sideways in my car to pick up something off of the floor. As I stretched to pick it up I suddenly had a sharp pain under my right side rib cage. Wasn t bothering me much today until I went outside and started raking grass. Now I can hardly move without it being in pain. Was curious what it could be

Hello,

I suppose you're talking about flank (not abdominal) pain. This is a very common presentation of a prolapsed intervertebral disc. The disc can apply pressure on nerve roots and cause pain and other symptoms (like tingling etc). The pain can be felt on the lower back but it may also radiate to the leg.

You should check it with an orthopedics specialist, who will be able to guide you further.
