What Causes Sharp Pain Behind The Knee While Bending?

Hi. I ve had a sharp pain in back of left knee. Started 3 weeks ago. The pain now is just above, a palms width, knee. And sometimes into calf. Difficult to walk, bend, or extend straight. Doesnt appear to have much swelling, just a little. Could this be fluid? Or worse?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear. Pain in the knee joint may be due to osteoarthritis of knee joint, which is most common condition. Its a condition where the synovial fluid between joints depletes and there is friction between the leg bones and results in sharp pain.
Go to an orthopedician who will take xray of he knee joint to diagnose the condition. Treatment will be pain killers, calcium suppliments, glucosamine etc. Dont worry.
Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you.
All the best
With warm regards
