I seem to have a sharp pain in my chest area, right in the middle. It almost feels like someones squeezing my chest.....this doesn t happen often, but I ve noticed it has happened twice now after a night out drinking, and its always the following day and hour or so after i wake up that it happens. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi there,

Thanks for writing in.

Alcohol intake causes gastritis and that could be the resaon for your pain.
A proton pump inhibitor like pantoprazole might help.
Avoid consuming alcohol.
Especially, never take alcohol on an empty stomach.
Drink plenty of water and other fluids like tender coconut water.

Also get an ECG done to rule out a cardiac problem.

Hope this information was helpful; to you.

Regards,
Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
