What Causes Shaking In Body With Lightheadedness While Having Diabetes?

Yes, I am a type I insulin diabetic and I have been for over 35 years. In the past three months, I have been experiencing considerable shaking, which is similar to low blood sugar, but my blood tests are not to discerning. Even when my blood tests are relatively high, I feel like I m having an insulin reaction. I m wondering if this shaking and lightheadedness is related or not. Both my father and my mother s father died from the effects of Parkinson s disease.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think the shaking is due to drops in blood sugar levels. Should get them monitored, record the results for reference.

Plus, should monitor your blood pressure (bp), record the results for reference.

A complete biochemistry panel is recommended together with a cardiovascular check-up to rule out related pathologies.

If nothing, then, further consultation with a neurologist is highly recommended to rule out neurological issues.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
