What Causes Severe Vomiting, Diarrhea, Bloating And Upper Abdominal Pain?

I was very sick 3 months ago, with severe vomiting and diarrhea. Went to ER and was told it was some type of virus. After a week, I was well enough to go back to work, but my stomachs is not the same.. I cannot tolerate any type of food except applesauce or jello or very light foods, and I have pain in my diaphragm, with a deep heaviness , which makes it hard to breathe or walk all of the time.. There is a bloating feeling under my breasts, and hurts when I breathe in. What could this be.. I feel so nauseous much of the time and pain in my chest area after I eat anything. Any suggestions?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having severe vomiting, diarrhea, bloating and upper abdominal pain which is most probably due to all of the changes taking place in your body such as electrolyte imbalance. However, it could be due to an illness or other medical problem. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to get up slowly and do not lie down right after eating , eat small meals or snacks often ,try not to skip meals. You should eat cold food instead of hot, as it may not smell as strongly , sniffing lemons or ginger can sometimes help an upset stomach , eating salty potato chips can help settle the stomach enough to eat a meal . If condition doesn't get better in 2-3 days the consult gynecologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antiemetic drug along with antibiotics .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
