General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Nausea, vomiting, and indigestion in the early weeks of pregnancy are due to increased blood levels of pregnancy hormones to which the pregnant lady is not used to. Till she cannot stand the high levels of pregnancy hormones.

Usually by 12 weeks pregnant lady gets used to the symptoms. But some pregnant ladies can stand the hormones earlier or few of them to not have sensitivity to raised hormones. Such ladies have symptoms for lesser period or don't have vomiting at all or few may continue to have it for more than 3 months. So presence/absence/duration of vomiting does not have any relevance until the fetus is growing very well.

Considering your wife's past history without taking any tension, she needs to get examination and USG scan to confirm fetal well-being and also needful treatment to prevent recurrence.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash
