I recently had sex lastnight and I started feeling strong pain to where I wanted to stop , I wasn t really dry but just a little I went to the bathroom after wards and my lips were swollen also my clit but then my vagina whole area like the skin was swollen on both sides, it was nearly swollen shut , it looked like 2 huge red lumps the size of a pecan, I iced it all night and in the morning it was swollen a little then eventually it went down but then there was some spotting, what is this ? Is it just from rough sex ? Also I recently just got off my period 2 days ago

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,
Understand your concern.
I think pain is mainly due to rough sex that damage the genital tract due to friction.
It may be due to hymen injury.
Causes are below
1. VAGINAL WALL TRAUMA: it contain atrophied endothelial lining of vagina.
so little blood due to trauma mix with cervical mucus form it pinkish colour
It indicate disturbance in blood vessels integrity
Sexual intercourse precipitate microfissure and frets in vessels lead to bleeding and caus pain

It can be prevented by using lubrication during intercourse.
2.Precancerous condition in cervix
3. Endo metrial dysplasia
4. Cervical polyp
5. Rough sex
6. Fibroid and adenomyosis

So it might be a trauma to vaginal wall.

You should maintain hygiene and keep vaginal area dry.
wash by using warm water with added salt.
Wear loose cotton underwear.
Use condom and lubrication during sex.
Insert penis once vagina get fully wet.
Tablet meftal spas for pain 2-3 times per day.
Apply cold pad
Ointment hydrocortisone if looking sever
But if it will not respond you should consult with gynecologist to exclude precancerous condition and infection(STD: bacterial vaginosis an chlymadia)

Do the following test:
1. PAP smear
2. Gram stain and Culture from discharge
4. PCR and nucleic acid amplification test
to exclude STDs

Hope this may help you
Wish you good health
