What Causes Severe Swelling In The Left Leg, Ankle And Foot After A Hip Replacement?
My sister has severe swelling in her left leg, knee, ankle and foot after a left hip replacement surgery She is home and was told not to elevate or use the stockings that others have used!! What can we do to get the swelling to go down?? Very concerned!!!

Hello,
I have studied your case. I think you need to again check with your doctor as there is no harm in wear stocking. I think she might be having DVT. I would suggest you to get a Doppler examination and check if there is any clot in the veins. Also you need to check about het blood clotting factors. She should also do exercises.
