General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is good for you to see a doctor and rule out an infection of the pinna of the ear (the outside ear). This is important because if infection is there antibiotics may be needed as soon as possible due to the fact that the ear has cartilage which is not well supplied with blood vessels and is at risk of permanent damage if the infection is not treated well or in time.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj
