What Causes Severe Stomach Pain When Diagnosed With Ovarian Cysts?

Hello, For months now I have had what I thought was stomach pain and my doctor gave me heartburn meds. I went out to the ER because I had severe pain in my right and left sides. I had got an MRI and they found a 7mm cyst on my ovaries so they sent me to the OBGYN. The OBGYN said that will go away on its own but said all the pain I had been having was because my colon. He gave me Bentyl for IBS. That has not helped I have been in so much pain, it never goes away in the colon area and I just feel it maybe something else, I am just so tired of being in pain every day. I am tired all the time my muscles in my body hurt I feel like I am gaining weight so fast I am just miserable. Thank you, Abby

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Mefenamic acid for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
