I had a mirena coil fitted April 2013 for heavy periods and unsuitability to the pill. I still have periods, pmt and cramping every 3 weeks. Since the coil was fitted I have got from a lean muscle type size 6/8 to 2stone heavier with horrendous stomach bloating, back pain. My Gp conducted blood tests, due to abnormally high testosterone I had a vaginal scan which showed a small cyst on my ovary and. Fibrous changes to the womb. I am 45 years old and have 4 children. I seriously think these changes are due to the coil.
