What Causes Severe Spasms In The Lower Left Back?

A week ago I started having pain in the area of my back on the left side like in my hip area. Then the next day it was in my entire lower back. the next day I could hardly walk or even straighten up and I had back spasms. After 4 chiropracteric treatments the pain in the back left hip area remains. I also feel a pulled in my side calf of my left leg. What could this be?

Hi,

You can have pulled muscle or ligament in calf region as per mentioned history. For that anti-inflammatory drug like Ibrufen can be prescribed for five days. A hot compress can be applied over the affected part. Avoid movement that causing pain.

Muscle relaxant like chlorzoxazone can be prescribed for that. However, I suggest you consult a physician once for a physical examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
