What Causes Severe Pus Filled Pimples On The Face?

Hi, I am 28 years old and in my earlier days i used to get pimples at least three or four in a week, some of them contains pus occasional. From time to time, develop some blackheads / whiteheads and pimples. pimples leave dark marks and sometimes pitted scarring. Also on my back sometimes. From past two months am having severe acne face full of big red bumps, in circle shape yellow pus in it and some of them just round while feeling/touching seems something in it. I have been consulting a dermatologist and he advised me for starting one month brevoxyl face wash, Cliandac A gel, Retino A + Sofradox, Minoz Tab 10mg Sotret 20mg, Scalp shampoo and instructed for LFT & U/S Pelvis. After taking the medicine for one month no improvements on face were seen. And Reports have been showed to him but he informed that reports are fine. For the another one month he has prescribed Microdox LBX, sotret 20mg, Allegra Tab 180 and rest all ointments as prescribed earlier. On my third visit means after completing 1.5 months he has prescribed Clindac A gel, Retino A , Sotret 20mg, Minoz ER 65, Dipronote +parasoft cream 1:1, Allegra 120 mg and LFT Test. Now some improvement have been seen on my face. So please advise shall i continue the treatment with the dermatologist and advise how much time will it take to clear my skin to come to its original and will this treatment be good enough to clear all the marks/spots on the face.

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe pus filled pimples on the face which occur when duct of sebaceous gland get blocked and infected by bacteria. It could be due to hormonal changes ,stress or some medications. I would suggest you to not to prick or touch pimples , exfoliate your skin to remove dead skin and bacteria's, wash your face with mild soap twice a day. You should avoid over exposure to sun and use over the counter ointment containing benzoyl peroxide. Apply aloe vera gel. You can continue above prescribed medication course after consultation with dermatologist once. If condition persists even after adopting above method then consult dermatologist for proper evaluation of your condition . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , isotretinoin containing ointment or procedures like chemical peel or microdermabrassion.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
