Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 35 year old daughter s legs are covered with red bumps, looks horrible! She thinks there s a bug biting her but I m wondering why it only bites Her! ......no one else gets these bites. I feel so bad for her, she broke down crying the other day, I had the house sprayed, but she seems to be still breaking out or getting bites! Help! I ve been trying to get her to go to a dermatologist.
Insect bites may cause lumps on the legs but generally would be more spread, affecting other exposed ares of the body like hands and arms and sometimes the face as well. Other people in the family would have the same problem and the fact that no one else has these bumps decreases the chance of them being due to insect bites.
It is important for her to see a dermatologist and find the real cause of them. it could be an infection or a subcutaneouos nodules that happen with autoimmune conditions... A good inspection of the lesions and good history of how it happened will help the doctor determine the diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
