My husband - 52 has had severe stomach pain right under the ribcage that started slowly yesterday pm and has now gotten worse, especially after 4 pm today and he said it s worse than that now - He s sipping 7-up, vomiting excessively and now dry heaves.
Hello, I have read your problem in details and taking consideration of scenario by your explanation, Your husband may be suffering by Gastroenteritis. Pain pattern suggests, sever acidity may be the main cause and it might be due to bacterial or viral infection through food or spicy and oily food beverages. In such situation you should take the patient to your primary physician for detail physical examination, provisional diagnosis and treatment according to findings. Your primary physician may advice you to undergo some blood and stool examination lab tests. If condition is not improving after the physician consultation then you should visit Gastroenterologist for Oesophago-Gastro-Duodenoscopy and expert advice. By the time stop drinking 7-up or any aerated drinks which actually causes bloting of stomach and worsen the symptoms like vomitting and dry heaves.
