What Causes Severe Pain Under Right Ribcage?

i m 58years old, I have severe pain under my right ribcage. I m taking 2 Vicodin at a time and it s not really touching my pain. I went to my PCP twice in 8 days with same problem, She treated me for pneumonia but I don t think I have or had pneumonia. Have had it before and this wasn t it. I have a 7.5 mm kidney stone at the junction of my kidney and ureter, everyone says my pain is too severe for this to be a result of this kidney stone which showed up 7 weeks ago on CT imaging. What could this be and what do I do about it.. I have a very high pain tolerance but this is feeling like i d be better off dead if I have to live the rest of m life like this.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear 58yr old,
7 weeks is a long time for change.
Your pain is of Renal pathology and kindly get a repeat Ct or an Ultrasound at the soonest and visit a Urologist.Conditions like these which are treated only by painkillers often lead to chronicity of the problem.
Good luck
